Don Mackenzie
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

Therapy for children, adults, parents and families
Mackenzie Social Work Services is a telehealth-only practice and I work therapeutically with children, teenagers, adults, couples and groups.
I provide counselling, therapy, assessment, psycho-education, supervision, coaching and strategies to help you process and manage challenging issues, life transitions or behaviours of concern. I follow a neurodivergent affirming, person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to helping people.
I start where you are at and follow the neurodiversity approach which states our brains and nervous systems are all different, not from a neurotypical, deficit or pathologised model.
If you or a family member is experiencing ongoing difficulties, it’s important to seek support early.
I believe in working collaboratively with you, your family members or carers and other professionals who support you such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists, peadiatricians, psychiatrists and GPs.
The social work profession is grounded in the dignity and worth of each person and the protection of their human rights and freedoms.

Both of my children aged 9yrs and 15yrs have seen Don this year.

He has always been so approachable and easy for the kids to relate to.

My son even looked forward to his sessions each fortnight to chat and learn from Don.

Each session we took home strategies and real tools to help with current situations going on in their life.

These strategies were very easy to implement and age appropriate.

I personally recommend Don to anyone at any age who needs help with their mental health.
